TEETH WHITENING

Teeth Whitening – Brighten Your Smile Safely A bright, white smile can enhance your appearance and boost your confidence. However, everyday habits such as drinking coffee, tea, wine, or smoking can lead to staining and discoloration of teeth. At Dental Designs, we offer safe and effective teeth whitening solutions, including professional in-clinic treatments and customized home bleaching kits, to help you regain a radiant smile.

In-Clinic Teeth Whitening

Our in-clinic whitening is performed under expert supervision using advanced dental-grade gels that penetrate enamel and break down deep stains effectively. It’s a fast and safe option with visible results in just one session. We take every precaution to minimize sensitivity and ensure even, long-lasting results.

Home Whitening (Bleaching) Kits

For those who prefer whitening their teeth in the comfort of their home, we provide
custom-made bleaching trays and clinically tested whitening gels. Unlike generic
kits, our dentist-supervised home whitening ensures a precise fit and controlled application,
reducing risks while delivering noticeable improvement in 10–14 days.
Disadvantages of Over-the-Counter Whitening Products
While over-the-counter (OTC) whitening strips, pens, and trays may seem convenient and
inexpensive, they often come with several drawbacks:
● Uneven whitening due to poorly fitting trays or strips
● Increased tooth sensitivity or gum irritation from uncontrolled gel
concentrations
● Short-lived results compared to professional treatments
● Lack of dental supervision, which may worsen underlying dental issues if present
● Risk of enamel damage with repeated or improper use
Choosing professionally guided whitening methods ensures both safety and effectiveness
without compromising your oral health.

Let your smile shine brighter with teeth whitening at Dental Designs. Whether you choose in-clinic treatment or a home bleaching kit, our experienced team will guide you every step of the way

We provide a wide range of medical services, including consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and preventive care

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.

Placing custom veneers requires a high degree of technical skill as well as attention to cosmetic detail. We place veneers routinely, and design each case individually to match and enhance the characteristics of each patient’s smile.

When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade.

We will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available.

Refraining from using your veneers as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life, and if accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the veneer involved.

Teeth Whitening

It’s safe, quick, and inexpensive. Just let us know at any appointment if you would like to whiten your teeth. You can lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower, depending on how much you show when you talk and smile.

Dental bleaching can be used to correct tooth discoloration. Discolorations can be caused by aging, staining or chemical damage to teeth. Using the latest in bleaching technology, Herald Square Dental can offer a safe method for creating a beautiful “brilliant” smile. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be the only choice, but because of the low cost of bleaching treatments, bleaching is nearly always worth a solid try.

Imagine Smiling Confidently With a Brighter Smile!

KEY BENEFITS OF TEETH WHITENING

Corrects brown, yellow and spotted tooth staining

Works on people of any age

Is a near-permanent solution for a “dull” smile, restoring brightness and brings a smile alive

First, an impression is taken to make a specialized “mouth guard” or “stent” used in holding the whitening gel against the teeth. The material is used each night for 3 nights to 3 weeks and In many cases, the change is nothing short of brilliant. For confidence in appearance, bleaching technology allows us to promise improvements in yellowing, aging or stained teeth. For very severely stained teeth, e-max crowns or veneers may be more appropriate.

Over-the-counter bleaching agents are available for purchase at drug stores and pharmacies. However, since these products can cause harm to the gums and teeth, it’s better to use products that our practice recommends.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays can be made of porcelain, gold, or composite resin. These pieces are bonded to the damaged area of the tooth. An inlay, which is similar to a filling, is used inside the cusp tips of the tooth. An onlay is a more substantial reconstruction, similar to the inlay but extending out over one or more of the cusps of the tooth.

Traditionally, gold has been the material of choice for inlays and onlays. In recent years, however, porcelain has become increasingly popular due to its strength and colour, which can potentially match the natural color of your teeth.

Inlays and onlays require two appointments to complete the procedure. During the first visit, the filling being replaced or the damaged or decaying area of the tooth is removed, and the tooth is prepared for the inlay or onlay. To ensure proper fit and bite, an impression of the tooth is made by the dentist, and sent to a lab for fabrication. The dentist will then apply a temporary sealant on the tooth and schedule the next appointment.

At the second appointment, the temporary sealant is removed. If the fit is satisfactory, the inlay or onlay will be bonded to the tooth with a strong resin and polished to a smooth finish.

Considerations for inlays and onlays

Traditional fillings can reduce the strength of a natural tooth by up to 50 percent. As an alternative, inlays and onlays, which are bonded directly onto the tooth using special high-strength resins, can actually increase the strength of a tooth by up to 75 percent. As a result, they can last from 10 to 30 years. In some cases, where the damage to the tooth is not extensive enough to merit an entire crown, onlays can provide a very good alternative.

Bonding

Dental bonding is an option that can be considered:

To repair cavities.
To repair chipped or broken teeth.
To change the colour of discoloured teeth.
To close gaps between front teeth.
To make teeth look longer.
As an alternative to silver fillings.
To protect the roots of teeth when gums recede.

Preparation. The area is then carefully isolated using gauze, cotton rolls or a dental dam.

The bonding process. The tooth surface is then roughened and any decay or discoloration is removed. Any old silver fillings are also removed. The surface of the tooth is treated with various products to help the bonding material stick to the tooth surface. The tooth-coloured, putty-like resin is then applied, moulded, and smoothed to the desired shape. A special light is then used to harden the material. After the material is hardened, we will further trim and shape it, and polish it to match the sheen of the rest of the tooth surface.

How long does it take? We typically ask our patients to set aside 1-2 hours for their bonding appointment depending on the number of teeth being bonded.

Advantages: Dental bonding is among the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dental procedures. Unlike veneers and crowns, which are customized tooth coverings that must be manufactured in a laboratory, bonding usually can be done in one office visit unless several teeth are involved. Another advantage, compared with veneers and crowns, is that the least amount of tooth enamel is removed.

Disadvantages: Because bonding is not as strong as other options such as crowns or veneers, our patients are advised to be very careful with their bonded teeth. Also, dental bonding typically has to be repaired or replaced every few years as it will chip and discolour easily. In some cases, the cavity or the broken area may be simply too big to repair with bonding alone.

DENTAL VENEERS

CERAMIC VENEERS

Ceramic Veneers – Natural, Lasting Perfection Ceramic veneers are thin, custom-made shells placed over the front surface of your teeth to enhance their appearance. At Dental Designs, we use LiDSi ceramic veneers, a premium-grade lithium disilicate material from the E.max range by Ivoclar Vivadent—renowned for its superior strength, natural translucency, and outstanding aesthetic results. These veneers are ideal for patients seeking a long-lasting, minimally invasive solution to achieve a confident, radiant smile.

The Process – What to Expect

1. Smile Design & Evaluation

We begin with a detailed consultation and aesthetic planning, including photographs and shade analysis to tailor the smile to your facial features and preferences.

2. Digital Impressions with iTero Scanner

At Dental Designs, we use the iTero intraoral scanner to capture accurate 3D digital impressions—eliminating the need for traditional, messy molds. This ensures a more comfortable experience and precise fit

3. Minimal Tooth Preparation

A very thin layer of enamel is gently reshaped to accommodate the veneer while maintaining maximum natural tooth structure.

4. Lab Fabrication Using LiDSi by Ivoclar

Your digital scans are sent to a specialized dental lab, where master ceramicists craft your veneers from LiDSi lithium disilicate, part of the trusted E.max family by Ivoclar Vivadent. This ensures optimal translucency, strength, and aesthetic fidelity.

5. Bonding

Once your veneers are ready, they are securely bonded to the enamel using
advanced adhesive techniques. Careful adjustments are made to ensure a naturallook and feel.

● Gaps between teeth
● Smile makeovers requiring uniform colour and symmetry

LiDSi veneers from E.max offer a precise blend of durability and natural beauty, designed to mimic the clarity and texture of real enamel.

Longevity and Aesthetic Excellence

When bonded to enamel, LiDSi ceramic veneers are among the longest-lasting restorations in modern dentistry, often lasting 15 to 20 years or more with proper care. They retain their color, texture, and shine better than composite options, and do not require frequent maintenance.

Post-Care Guide – Maintaining Your Veneers

Although LiDSi ceramic veneers are strong and stain-resistant, proper care is essential for maximizing their longevity and maintaining a flawless appearance.

1. Maintain Excellent Oral Hygiene

● Brush twice daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush
● Floss gently to avoid plaque buildup at the gumline
● Use a non-abrasive toothpaste to protect the surface sheen

2. Avoid Excessive Force

● Don’t use your teeth to open packets or bite into hard objects like pens or ice
● If you grind or clench your teeth, we recommend a custom night guard to
protect your veneers

3. Limit Stain-Causing Foods and Habits

While LiDSi veneers resist staining, minimizing exposure to red wine, coffee,
tea, and tobacco will help keep your smile brighter for longer

4. Schedule Regular Dental Visits

Routine check-ups and professional cleanings every six months help monitor both the veneers and underlying teeth

5. Treat Veneers Like Natural Teeth

Veneers can chip under pressure, just like natural enamel, so be mindful of
your bite and chewing habits

We begin with an in-depth discussion about your concerns, lifestyle, and desired outcomes. Clinical photographs, digital scans using the iTero scanner, and a facial-symmetry evaluation are used to plan your smile.

COMPOSITE BONDING

Anterior Composite Bonding

Fix chips, gaps, or discolouration—beautifully and conservatively. Composite bonding is a cosmetic procedure where tooth-colored resin is applied to the front teeth (anterior teeth) to correct minor imperfections. It’s ideal for reshaping, repairing chipped edges, closing small gaps, and enhancing discoloured or misshaped teeth.

How It’s Done: The Bonding Process

1. Evaluation & Shade Selection – The dentist examines the teeth and
selects a composite shade that blends naturally with your smile.
2. Surface Preparation – Minimal or no enamel removal is needed. The
surface is gently roughened to enhance adhesion.
3. Bonding & Sculpting – A tooth-colored resin is applied and carefully shaped
to the desired contour.
4. Curing – A high-intensity light hardens the composite.
5. Finishing & Polishing – The tooth is smoothed and polished to match your
natural enamel’s shine and texture.

Advantages of Composite Bonding

● Minimally invasive – Preserves your natural tooth structure
● Quick results – Often completed in a single visit
● Affordable – A budget-friendly cosmetic option
● Custom-shaded and sculpted for a natural appearance
● Reversible and repairable if future adjustments are needed

Disadvantages of Composite Bonding

● Less durable than porcelain veneers or crowns
● Prone to staining from coffee, tea, or smoking over time
● May chip with habits like nail-biting or teeth grinding
● Requires maintenance – Polishing or minor repairs may be needed every
few years

Composite Veneers – A Step Beyond Bonding

Composite veneers are a more comprehensive cosmetic solution where the front
surface of the tooth is fully covered with composite resin. This technique is perfect
for:
● Discoloured or worn-down teeth
● Mild crowding or spacing
● Patients who want a full smile transformation without the cost or preparation
of porcelain veneers
They offer a quick and reversible smile upgrade with minimal enamel removal.

Bonding

Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-coloured resin material is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve person’s smile.

For What Conditions Is Dental Bonding Considered?

Dental bonding is an option that can be considered:

To repair cavities.
To repair chipped or broken teeth.
To change the colour of discoloured teeth.
To close gaps between front teeth.
To make teeth look longer.
As an alternative to silver fillings.
To protect the roots of teeth when gums recede.
